Privacy Policy
This policy explains what workOwon collects, why it is used, and the controls available to members.

Information you provide
We process account details, professional profile information, posts, comments, reactions, messages, job and community activity, files you upload, and support requests so that we can provide workOwon’s networking and career features.
Device and service data
We may process device identifiers, push-notification tokens, IP addresses, security events, diagnostics, and feature usage to authenticate members, prevent abuse, deliver notifications, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information.
Photos, files, and microphone
Access is requested only when you choose media, attach a document, or record a voice note. Selected content is uploaded to provide the feature you requested. workOwon does not access your entire photo library or microphone in the background.
Sharing, retention, and security
Profile and public-content visibility follows the audience you select. Service providers may process data solely to host, secure, analyze, email, deliver notifications, or provide the AI features described below. Records are retained while needed for the service, legal obligations, fraud prevention, and backups.
Public content, search engines, and AI tools
Some content on workOwon is public: anyone can read it at workowon.com without signing in. This includes job listings, company pages, public communities (their name, description, rules, and public posts), events, posts members share publicly, and the comments on those public posts, along with the name, photo, and headline shown on those posts and comments.
Because it is public, search engines such as Google and Bing, and AI services such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini, may visit these pages, index them, and show, summarize, or quote them in their results and answers. We list public pages in our sitemap so these services can find them.
Private content is not made public this way: messages, connections-only and private community posts, your email address and phone number, job applications, and account settings stay inside workOwon, and member profile pages are kept out of search engines.
You control what becomes public by choosing the audience when you post. If you edit or delete public content, it changes on workOwon right away; search engines and AI services update or drop it the next time they visit the page, which can take some time and is handled by those services, not by workOwon.
AI features
Some optional features use Google Gemini, an AI service from Google. When you use the AI Assistant, or fill your profile or a job application from a resume, the text of your messages, your resume, and the profile details needed to answer are sent to Google to generate a response. We tell you this in the app before you use these features. Google processes this data to provide the service to us. If you don’t want this, don’t use these features; the rest of workOwon works without them.
Your choices
You can edit your profile, control notification preferences, remove content, sign out, or delete your account from the workOwon app. For access or privacy questions, email contact@workowon.com.
