For new grad interviews, is it enough to cover the API, DB schema and hashing? Or do they expect caching, sharding etc.?

For new grads: clear API, schema, how you generate IDs, and one scaling idea (caching hot links). Show you can reason, not that you memorised.

And mention what happens on a hash collision. It's a good signal.
